Advertising Principles and Practices
Bond students make their advertising ideas work – in the real world.A new logo, a new name and valuable ideas and recommendations for his newly established business – this is what Chris Channels, founder of the fitness consultancy “Balance 360”, took away from the campaign concepts the student groups in the introductory course Advertising Principles and Practice had developed during the May semester 2009. “I was highly impressed by the quality of the work and I got valuable insights from every presentation,” Channels said. Marde Holt and James Parfitt designed the logo. And the work continues; Students in the Media Planning and Buying class will be looking into specific areas of his business and create advertising and media strategies to help him reach the highly contested targeted group of business clients and professional women. “I am already looking forward to the students’ ideas” Channels said. “Last year’s campaign concepts really advanced my business, and I expect the current projects to be just as good.” And it’s not only a one-way road. The students benefit from the co-operation with real world businesses as well. They get hands-on experience in dealing with clients, and two students already commenced their own paid advertising projects with Chris Channels’ fitness consultancy.
