ConsultancyOur research leads to the discovery of new knowledge and innovative techniques that can be applied to practical problems associated with firesetting behaviour. Our researchers are focused on creating new or improved assessments and interventions to assist community based organizations along with criminal justice agencies and law enforcement in better managing deliberate firesetting. We provide strategic advice and apply our research strengths to solve problems or develop expertise in local contexts. Our work has application in education (schools based), institution, and correctional settings. We provide the following services: - Collaborative research or research partnerships (including ARC Linkage grants)
- Commissioned research
- Fire specific risk assessment for pre-trial assessment, probation and parole assessments, treatment formulation.
- Tailored individual treatment programs for adolescent (over 14 years of age) and adult deliberate firesetters.
- Educational presentations and workshops focused on topics related to the psychology of serial arson, bushfire arson, and deliberate firesetting generally.
