The Corporate Law Teachers Association and the Faculty of Law at Bond University will be hosting the annual CLTA conference in 2012 at the Bond University campus on the Gold Coast in Queensland. The conference will be held from Sunday, 5 February to Tuesday 7 February 2012.
The theme for the forthcoming conference will be “Corporate Law in Times of Change”. It will cover contemporary issues in both Corporate Law and Corporate Governance in the light of the Global Financial Crisis. These issues will include board diversity, insolvency and business judgement and reforms.
The keynote speaker for the 2012 Conference will be Professor Douglas Branson, one of the leading US commentators on Corporate Law and Corporate Governance.
About the Conference
The Corporate Law Teachers Association Conference is a 3 day conference. The Conference will be of interest to corporate law teachers in Law Schools and Business Schools, to legal practitioners interested in the field of corporate law, corporate law regulators and corporate law researchers.
A Corporate Law Teaching Workshop will be held on Sunday, 5 February 2012 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Hosted by Professor Eugene Clark, Jenny Dickfos and Craig Cameron from Griffith University, this interactive workshop will explore a range of issues including large class teaching, cohort diversity, the teaching/research divide, teaching innovations, curriculum developments, strategies for student engagement and other related issues. The workshop will be of interest to corporate law teachers in both law and business faculties. There will be opportunities throughout the workshop to share concerns and exchange ideas and resources
There will be an official conference registration followed by a Welcome Reception in the University Club on Sunday evening from 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm.
The second day of the conference will open with our keynote speaker, Professor Douglas Branson from the University of Pittsburgh. Professor Branson will discuss “Board Diversity’ along with fellow commentators Professor Peta Spender from Australian National University and Professor Susan Watson from The University of Auckland Business School. There will also be Panel sessions on ‘Globalisation, the Global Financial Crisis and the Impacts on Corporate Law Teaching’, ‘Company Law and Developments in South Africa’ and ‘Publishing’.
The conference dinner will be held on Monday night, 6 February 2011.
Non-CLTA members such as legal practitioners, regulators, students and researchers are welcome to attend the conference.

Call for Papers:
The Corporate Law Teachers Association and the Faculty of Law at Bond University invite the submission of papers for presentation at the forthcoming conference which will be held on the theme “Corporate Law in Times of Change”.
All papers related to the main theme will be considered.
