The Great Animal Welfare Debate

The Faculty of Law at Bond University invites you to join us for The Great Animal Welfare Debate.

The Grand Final of our Debating Competition will be brought to you by the Bond Debating Union and the Bond Animal Welfare League

Finalists from the State of the Union Debating Competition during weeks 6 and 7, organised by the Bond Debating Union, will be joined by the Bond Animal Welfare League’s special guests former Senator the Hon. Andrew Bartlett and Michael Byrne QC in what promises to be an exciting debate on an Australian animal welfare issue.

Our special guest and Judge of the Great Debate will be Former High Court Justice The Honourable Michael Kirby AC CMG.  Following the debating competition, Justice Kirby will give a presentation on animal welfare entitled "My Epiphany with the Animals".

Armed with a passion for social justice and with years of experience in senior roles at the UN, World Bank and World Health Organisation (WHO), Justice Kirby now turns his keen mind towards seeking justice for animals
