Malaysian Competition

Bond University’s annual High School Mooting Competition introduces student representatives to the courtroom environment. The competition is an opportunity for all students to build their confidence and to put their thoughts into words, which is the type of exposure this competition offers that a classroom setting may not. For prospective law students, the competition also offers the chance to test their potential skills as court advocates and to practice persuasive speaking.

East Malaysia has been part of the High School Mooting program since 2006 and from 2011 both Kota Kinabalu and Kuching hold their own regional rounds and final.

Schools must register with a local representative to participate and materials for the competition are distributed by them directly.

Entry is restricted to students in their last two secondary years (Form Six, ’A’ Level, Pre-University or Matriculation) students.
