International Support Programs

Our Faculty of Law pays special attention to the needs and progress of our students from China. A number of our teaching staff have long standing academic relationships with highly respected Chinese educational institutions including Associate Professor Terry Gygar who has been a visiting Professor and lecturer at City University of Hong Kong and East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai and has a great deal of experience in assisting Chinese students to reach their full academic potential, as has Associate Professor Kay Lauchland. Associate Professors Gygar and Lauchland also organise a study tour to China each year for our Australian students. These students study Chinese Law and Society at SWUPL in Chongqing.

Chinese students who are interested in studying at Bond are invited to contact our China Representative Rachel Lu. You are able to discuss Bond Law and its programs with Rachel and she may be able to meet you personally during one of her regular visits to the PRC.

The Bond University Faculty of Law prides itself on its International outlook and has developed special programs to assist students from Civil Law countries and for whom English is a second language to be successful in their legal studies. These special programs are particularly helpful to Chinese JD and LLB students.

Bond Law has an Asian Law Student Society which assists Asian students to integrate into Australian University life, study and society and holds regular seminars, functions and additional tutorials to assist our students. Each overseas student is also offered assistance by Australian and Chinese students who act as mentors and advisors in their first semesters.

You can contact Chinese students currently studying in the Bond University Faculty of Law to discuss their experiences and learn more about study in Australia.
