About The Project: Detecting Expert Witness Deception
Project Summary
Funded by a donation from the Criminal Lawyers Association of Australia and New Zealand, this research project aims to objectively assess the import of expert psychological evidence vis-à-vis witness demeanour. A combination of mock trials and shadow juries will be used to assess whether and under what circumstances the reception of such evidence will be of benefit in assisting the triers of fact in assessing the truthfulness of witnesses.
The project is led by Bond University and is funded by the Criminal Lawyers Association of Australia and New Zealand.
