Student InternshipsThe Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy offers in-house internships to Bond Law students who are in their penultimate or final year of study and have demonstrated a passion for and solid academic merit in their study of law. In-house Internships range from casual, paid (research funded) positions to volunteer roles, whereby students undertake a variety of research-based tasks. The Centre has successfully facilitated internships for the following students:

The in-house internship program provides Bond Law students the opportunity to assist the Centre in developing and implementing its full suite of activities. As an intern, students may be required to: • Assist Centre management with legal research on active research projects. • Write articles for the Centre newsletter (requiring, at times, the interpretation of legal jargon into simplified English). • Create blogs and tweets on current legal research projects or legal topics. • Assist with preparation of funding proposals. • Undertake general writing and research tasks. • Help to organise events around legal topics including symposiums, conferences and lectures. • Undertake a minor amount of administrative work. Expressions of InterestExpressions of interest to undertake an in-house internship must be submitted to the Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy by 5pm, Monday of Week 11 each semester and the applicant must be able to intern for one day per week during the semester ahead. Students will be contacted during Week 11 for interviews and all applicants will be notified by Friday of Week 12 to advise if their application has been successful or unsuccessful. Selection CriteriaTo be considered for a Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy in-house internship, students must: • Be in their penultimate or final year of their Bachelor of Laws (or any Bachelor of Laws double degree) or JD degree at Bond University. • Have achieved a minimum credit (65%) average across their legal studies • Be available one to two days (maximum per week) Application ProcessPlease email a one page cover letter stating the day of the week you are available, your reasons for applying for the internship and the skills/experience you would bring to the role; a CV (of no more than three pages), a copy of your academic transcript (from estudent) and a half page sample of your legal writing (from one of your assignments) to: Veronica Jones Centre Manager Centre for Law, Governance and Public Policy lawgovpolicy@bond.edu.au
