Faculty of Law Scholarships The Faculty of Law offers financial aid to eligible students through a number of Faculty-specific scholarships and bursaries. Law Dean’s Scholarships Each year, the Dean of Law presents a limited number of part scholarships to outstanding students completing Year 12 in an Australian secondary school. Application Criteria - For a 40% scholarship: OP1 - 3 or equivalent (TER 96 approximately) and evidence of very high all-round ability
- For a 25% scholarship: OP4 - 5 or equivalent (TER 93 approximately) and evidence of high all-round ability
All round ability includes leadership, sporting, cultural and community activities such as school captain or prefect, state or regional sporting representative, achievements in music, debating, national competitions, etc. Applicants must recieve A / B or VHA / HA grades on reports. The Faculty may also consider applications for Dean’s Scholarships from outstanding students who are not currently in year 12 and are applying for one of the Faculty’s undergraduate degrees. Scholarship recipients must achieve satisfactory grades each semester at Bond to retain their scholarship. Masters Scholarships Scholarships may be awarded to Bond University Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) graduates who wish to complete a Master of Laws (LLM) by coursework. Application Criteria - For a 25% scholarship: LLB/JD with First Class Honours
- For a 10% scholarship: LLB/JD with 2A or 2B Honours
Recipients must achieve a 65% average each semester at Bond and maintain a pattern of enrolment that enables them to complete their LLM within three years. Professional Legal Training (On-Campus) Scholarships Scholarships may be awarded to Bond University Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) graduates who wish to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PLT) in on-campus mode. Graduates of other Australian institutions may also be awarded a 25% scholarship towards the PLT program, if they have graduated with an honours degree from that institution, with approval from the Director of the PLT program. Application Criteria - For a 25% scholarship: LLB/JD with First Class, 2A or 2B Honours
This scholarship is only open to the on campus PLT program. Bond University LLB or JD graduates applying for the ONLINE PLT program may be eligible to apply for a Bond University Alumni Discount. - Awarded to one student annually, for the duration of the student’s degree
- The Scholarship winner will undertake an internship with the sponsoring firm.
- Note that only domestic students are eligible for these scholarships
Kearney Student Exchange Grant Dr John and Mrs Alison Kearney have provided funding for up to six travel scholarships that will enable law students to undertake an exchange semester at an overseas institution. For more information, click here. David Doublet Scholarship Two David Doublet Scholarships of 50% are awarded annually to outstanding students from Bergen University, Norway. Bursaries 25% Bursaries are allocated to students from Papua New Guinea, Africa and South Pacific nations on the basis of financial need and the application of income and asset tests. Recipients are required to maintain a 55% average each semester to retain their bursary. Bursary applications should accompany your university admission application.
