For Year 11 & 12 students

Are you interested in a career in property, real estate or urban design and planning?

Bond University would like to invite Year 11 & 12 students to attend a special experience day ‘How Your City Works’ hosted by the Institute of Sustainable Development & Architecture.

This is a great opportunity to experience university life in the areas of property or urban planning, by participating in on-campus interactive activities and presentations, as well as a special educational field trip accompanied by Bond University staff.

Program

Time Program
8:45am - 9:00am Meet and greet at Bond University *
9:00am – 11:20am Students will participate in a series of presentations by academics, and be taken on tours of the Institute’s internationally recognised buildings
11:20am – 12:00pm Complimentary lunch
12:05pm – 12:25pm Complimentary bus transfer to Q1
12:35pm – 2:15pm Students will participate in a series of scenic lectures by Gold Coast City Council senior representatives. These presentations will cover topics of:
  • The Gold Coast’s city design, its future and real estate landscape
  • Gold Coast Light Rail
  • Commonwealth Games Development
2:15pm – 3.00pm A guided walking tour of Surfers Paradise, including the topics of:
  • Old foreshore to new
  • ANZAC Memorial
  • History of Surfers Paradise
  • Beach front towers
  • Cavill Mall redevelopment
3:00pm – 3:30pm Complimentary bus transfer back to Bond University

 

* Students are requested to find their own mode of transportation to and from the University.

This is a complimentary event and places are limited – please register early to avoid disappointment.

* Please advise of dietary requirements – morning tea and lunch will be provided.
