The Gold Coast City Council has developed the draft Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Masterplan with the aim of providing important community facilities and to establish the Gold Coast as a recreational and cultural hub in South-East Queensland.
The draft Masterplan highlights the long-term vision for the Evandale site. It incorporates a number of cultural facilities amid the parklands and lake designed to provide an inviting, natural atmosphere for the precinct.
Earlier this year, Council created a multimedia piece to support the draft Masterplan and invited Prof Philip Follent, founding head of the Soheil Abedian School of Architecture, to provide his thoughts on the future development of the proposed cultural precinct.
