Building Services Authority (Qld) Accreditation

The Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development has received accreditation from the Queensland Building Services Authority for the following degrees:

Undergraduate Degrees

Graduates of the Bachelor of Property & Sustainable Development (CM &QS specialisation) satisfy the technical qualification requirement for the BSA licence class of Builder.

Postgraduate Degrees

The Bond University Mirvac School of Sustainable Development's building surveying programs have been accredited by both the AIBS and RICS thereby satisfying the educational requirements for accreditation at the level of Building Surveyor and Assistant Building Surveyor. Upon gaining accreditation with the AIBS or RICS, graduates may be eligible for a licence as a building certifier with the Queensland Building Services Authority. When licensed, graduates may practise as building certifiers for local government or as private certifiers.

Graduates of the Master of Construction Practice programs will have satisfied the technical requirements for an open builders licence in Queensland. Other criteria for licensing include financial and experiential requirements. Please refer to the BSA website at www.bsa.qld.gov.au for further information.

Note: The BSA must also assess an applicant’s suitability for the licence. For example, a person with a criminal record for fraud may not be capable of gaining a licence despite having completed the program and obtained accreditation from AIBS or RICS.
