Information for future students from USA
Bond University is Australia’s first private, not-for-profit University, offering a personalised academic environment that enables graduates to exceed the outer limits of their potential. With access to unparalleled academic and technological resources on Bond’s world-class Gold Coast campus, students thrive in smaller study groups where eminent professors and industry experienced lecturers know them by name. By undertaking three-semesters-per-year instead of the usual two, graduates finish their studies sooner. Combine this advantage with Bond’s commitment to opening doors to blue chip employers and it becomes clear that students graduate with a clear competitive advantage over their public university peers. Students from the United States of America comprise an important part of the student community at Bond. As well as the students currently studying full degree programs, Bond University is a popular destination for hundreds of Study Abroad students every year. Study Abroad students have a choice of more than 3000 courses, including subjects unique to Australia, which can be credited back to their home institutions. Bond University offers a unique opportunity to combine the highest possible quality education with an unforgettable travel experience that will shape the rest of your life. Entry Requirements
Bond’s entry criteria are based on more than just final Grade 12 or undergraduate academic results, emphasising extracurricular involvement and personal attributes, such as outstanding leadership and community involvement qualities. Admission decisions are made on an overall assessment of the application, however, prior academic performance is the primary consideration. There are no fixed deadlines for admission applications. We make our decisions on a 'rolling' basis, issuing offers to qualified applicants until all available spaces have been filled. You can apply up to one year in advance. Student FeesCitizens of the United States of America can fund their Bond University degree in a variety of ways, these include: Home Government Programs
Bond University participates in the William D Ford Direct Loan program, which offers Stafford and PLUS loans to U.S. Citizens. Upon receipt of this payment, a Confirmation of Enrollment form (CoE) will be issued, allowing students to apply for their student visa. Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans
Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans are awarded to Undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. The federal government pays your interest while you are in school at least half-time, during the grace period and any periods of deferment. Although you are not required to make payments whilst you are studying, you will enter repayment six months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrolment. For more information on eligibility, interest rates and repayment details click here. To be eligible, students will need to have received an official letter of offer from Bond University.

Please note that, effective July 1st 2012, Subsidized Stafford Loans are no longer available to Postgraduate or Professional students. Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans
Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are available to all eligible students, regardless of income. Unlike the subsidized Stafford Loan, you are responsible for paying the interest whilst you are in school at least half time. Interest accrues from the time of the first disbursement; however, you have the option of deferring your interest and principal payments until you enter the repayment period (at which point this interest is ‘capitalized’). Alternatively, you can opt to make a minimum repayment of $50 per month or the unpaid balance including interest, whichever is less.
