Printing/Copying

Services

Bond University provides network printing and photocopying facilities in a variety of locations across the campus.

Getting Started

Students

To use the printing and photocopying facilities:

  • You will need to load money into your copying and printing account on the University network – this can be done at one of the Loading machines in the Main Library, Law Library, Multimedia Learning Centre, Learning Lounge or the Health Sciences and Medicine Computer Lab. Alternatively, you can use the EFTPOS machine in the Main Library to transfer money directly from a debit/credit card account.
  • The first time you use a copier or printer you will need to choose and confirm a PIN to use in conjunction with your Student ID card for all copying and printing.
  • All photocopying and printing is self-service with card readers attached to the printers and photocopiers.
  • Swipe your Student ID Card through the card reader before copying or releasing a print job. The amount of money available in your copying and printing account will be displayed. As photocopies or prints are made, the programmed price will be debited to your account and the amount available will decrease accordingly.
  • Please note: Unused credit in your copying and printing account will not be refunded on completion of studies, so it is important to only load what you need at any given time.

Alumni, Associate Borrower or Members of the Community

Printing facilities are unavailable for Alumni, Associate Borrowers and members of the community. If you wish to photocopy you will need to purchase a rechargeable card from the Service Desk in the Main Library. The cost of a card is $1 and this amount will be debited from your balance after you have loaded funds to your account.

Copyright

Please note that copying must not infringe provisions of the Copyright Act 1968. The relevant restrictions are displayed prominently on each copying and printing machine. For further details on copyright please refer to the Copyright web pages.

A copyright owner is entitled to take legal action against a person who infringes his copyright. Unless otherwise permitted by the Copyright Act 1968, unauthorized copying of a work in which copyright subsists may infringe the copyright in that work. Where making a copy of a work is a fair dealing under Section 40 of the Copyright Act 1968, making that copy is not an infringement of the copyright in the work. It is fair dealing to make a copy, for the purposes of research or study, of one or more articles on the same subject matter in a periodical publication, or, in the case of any other work, of a reasonable portion of a work. In the case of a published work that is less than 10 pages and is not an artistic work, 10% of the total number of pages, or one chapter, is a reasonable portion.
