Guidelines for Academic StaffPlacing resources in the Reserve CollectionIntroduction The Reserve Collection is a hardcopy collection of materials that are in high demand to support teaching programs at Bond University. Please advise the Library in advance of the start of each semester of resources that you would like included in the Reserve Collection as some items may need to be ordered. Please consult with your Liaison Librarian regarding any questions you may have about the resources you would like added. All items in the Reserve Collection are for the current semester. This is to ensure the collection remains ‘up to date’. These guidelines detail the procedures for requesting material to be placed in the Reserve Collection. Please also refer to the Service Level Agreement that outlines in more detail the aims and objectives in providing Reserve services. Please check the Library Catalogue before advising students that resources are available. To confirm that your resources have been processed, search for either your course code or your name in Course Reserve in the Library Catalogue. All items will be taken out of the Reserve Collection at the end of each semester. The following semester’s Reserve Collection items must be requested afresh. This applies to both new items and items from the previous semester that are required again. Books and Audiovisual resources - Usually one copy of textbooks, videos or DVD's are placed in the Reserve Collection
- Please complete the online Subject Materials Request Form as soon as possible before the start of semester as material may need to be ordered.
- Additional copies may be kept in the General Collection. Demand for these is managed flexibly by varying loan periods.
Journal articles, papers and web resources- Please use the online Subject Materials Request Form to notify the library about articles, papers and web resources that you would like.
- If no electronic copies can be obtained from our licensed subscription services or freely on the Web, the Library may scan a print copy.
- In such cases when you are providing a hardcopy please ensure that the copy is legible, in good condition and aligned on the page.
- Please ensure all requests include full citations.
- The Library can only make electronic copies of one chapter/article or 10% of a work available at any one time. We recommend that you consider giving preference to articles that are available in our licensed subscription databases whenever possible as these have been purchased in digital format and linking to these articles does not involve copying.
