Service Level AgreementReserve Collection Processing - Registering resources for copyright compliance Why?To describe what the Library does for our customers and how we can work together to continue to improve Library Services. Library Services are enhanced through partnerships with both Academic staff and our students. Objective?Provide structure and guidelines for both the Academic community and the Library for processing course materials. These include prescribed and recommended readings as well as lecture notes and presentations containing a substantial portion of unlicensed third party copyright material. How?To provide these services and to expand on our excellent customer service, we need everyone’s assistance. Below is an outline of the service we aim to provide to you and what we need you to help us with. ServiceProvision of access to materials necessary for teaching, learning and research. Our Aim- To process your requests as soon as possible
- To check all requests for copyright compliance where the Library is expected to make an electronic or print copy.
- To place all prescribed materials in the Reserve Collection within 5 working days of notification from academic staff, if the material is held in the Library collection.
- To place all anticipated high demand recommended materials in the Reserve Collection within 5 working days of notification from academic staff, if the material is held in the Library collection.
- To register lecture notes and presentations in the copyright compliance register and provide an electronic copy for communication to students within 5 working days
- Requests which are not submitted until the first few weeks of semester when it is our peak time, may take some time to process.
- Requests received after the end of semester will be processed as soon as practicable
- Priorities and processing timeframes will be negotiated for Bulk Requests (>20) submitted from individual lecturers.
What we need you to do:- Discuss your reading list requirements and Copyright Compliance Register requirements with your Faculty Librarian
- Provide lists of your readings to your Faculty Librarian at least 4 weeks before each semester commences – these can be submitted using the Course Resources Request Form.
- Annotate the list by indicating which readings are prescribed or recommended and which are required within a week.
- Provide as much bibliographic information about each item as you can including the call number
- Provide full citations of journal articles, conference papers and web resources
- Provide a copy of lecture notes or presentations that need to be registered for copyright compliance in digital format by either:
- Attachment to an email sent to ereserve@bond.edu.au
- Copies on CD-ROM sent to your Faculty Librarian
- For all requests please ensure that you include your name, the course code and the course title.
