Here are some of the key databases you might start your search with: Ebsco Megafile Complete - multidisciplinary database with good coverage of construction and the building industry, including some surveying. Select "Academic Search Complete" and "Business Source Complete" from the list of Ebsco databases. ScienceDirect - multidisciplinary database including coverage for building and construction. Free access is available to full-text articles from the last five years. Academic Onefile - multidisciplinary database including coverage on building, construction and surveying. Proquest Central - multidisciplinary database including coverage for building and construction. Summon - searches over 50 databases at once and is probably the easiest way to search across the greatest number of journal articles. Once you've done your search, click 'Journal Article' on the left to limit your results to the available journal articles. If you're looking for a specific article, or want to know if you can access a specific journal, enter the name of the journal into the e-Journal Portal.
Specialised Electronic Resources
Building Code of Australia - contains technical provisions for the design and construction of buildings and other structures, covering such matters as structure, fire resistance, access, services and equipment and energy efficiency. Please contact the library to obtain a username and password. CostWeb - provides up to date construction cost information for all building types. Users can view building costs for various building types at different times in different regions as well as historic construction costs, and generate detailed building costs up to 3 years into the future. BUILD (via Informit) – the Australian Building Construction & Engineering Database (BUILD) contains abstracts from worldwide information in the building, construction and engineering field including fire technology.

eBooksYou'll find eBooks when you search for books using either the Library Catalogue or Summon. If you want to you can search the individual eBook platforms to see what they have: you'll find building and construction eBooks in ebrary and EBL. EBL also contains a number of surveying eBooks.
