Bond University press
Bond University Press (BUP) was established in 2002 with an Editorial Board comprised of representatives of each Faculty under the chairmanship of Professor Paul Wilson. In 2007 it was restructured and officially relaunched in May 2008. BUP is governed by a Management Board chaired by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Information.
Mission
Bond University Press aims to publish and promote high quality publications by Bond University staff.
Strategies
- To publish high quality academic and educational works, and other works which are significant to the University (including those which might encounter difficulty or delay with commercial publishers)
- To foster and encourage publication and research by Bond University Staff
- To enhance the impact of Bond University research within the community (including government recognition of research output by the University)
- To maintain DEEWR recognition as a recognised academic publisher
- To promote the research and teaching profile of Bond University, through:
- journals;
- electronic publications; and
- teaching materials in a publishable and economical format
Structure
An Editorial Committee ensures the high quality of BUP's publications. It comprises:
- representation from each Faculty (from which the Chair is drawn)
- representation from Information Services; and
- representation from Marketing
- Chair of the Bond University Research Committee (ex officio)
The Faculty representatives are appointed by their respective Dean, with the Chair appointed by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Information. The Editorial Committee reports annually to the Management Board of BUP and to the Academic Senate on its academic activities. The current Chair of the Editorial Committee is Professor Paul Wilson.
