FAQs

When is the Library Open?

Bond University Library has generous opening hours. It is open 83 and a half hours per week during semester time, including all day on Saturdays and Sundays to enable Bond University community access the on-site resources, facilities and services. Extended opening hours are scheduled during the exam period.

 

How and what can I borrow!

All current Bond University staff and students are able to borrow. Simply bring your student or staff ID card to the Loans desk. Bond University staff and students are able to borrow a combination of books, DVDs, CDs, and videos.

If you are not a current student or staff member, you may be able to join as a reciprocal or associate borrower. Reciprocal borrowers are staff and students of other Australian universities. If you are not classified as a reciprocal borrower, you may join up as an associate borrower for a fee.

 

How can I extend the items I have on loan?

Go to:  http://library.bond.edu.au:8991/F/?func=BOR-INFO

Enter your borrower number (the barcode number on your student card) and your pin number - your date of birth.

From your borrower record - click "Loans"

Check the box on the left-hand side under "Renew?" next to the item you wish to renew, or select "Renew All"

You should then see a display giving you the new due date(s)

You are able to renew a book a maximum of three times, however if someone else has placed a reservation on it, you will be unable to renew it. You can only renew your items online before or on the date they are due.

 

How do I acces electronic resources from off-campus?

Bond University Library provides access to hundreds of full text and bibliographic databases in all subject areas. To access databases off campus, you will be asked to authenticate by using your university network username and password. Some electronic resources may require a special password, please contact the Information Desk (5595 1510) for more information.

 

How do I request a book or article that is not held in the Library?

Bond University staff and students are able to request unlimited numbers of books, journal articles, and conference papers through Document Delivery. To request the items, fill in an online form and you will be notified via return email when they have arrived.

 

How do I print or photocopy?

Bond University Library provides network printing and photocopying facilities in the Main Library and John & Alison Kearney Law Library. Printing facilities are also provided in the Computer Labs and the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine Building.

 

How do I reference information?

There are several "styles" for referencing information. It would be a good idea to check with your lecturer to see whether a specific style is required. Bond University mainly uses the APA (American Psychological Association) Style, Harvard Style or Australian Guide to Legal Citation.
