Bond University Psychology Clinic

About Us

The Clinic operates as part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Welcome.  The Bond University Psychology Clinic is a private university teaching clinic for psychologists undertaking post-graduate study in clinical or forensic psychology, and functions as a centre for clinical research.  The Clinic has been providing psychological service to the Gold Coast community since 1999.

A psychology teaching clinic is like a medical teaching hospital, with services provided by Psychologist Interns who have already completed at least four years of university training in psychology and who are now enrolled in further specialist post-graduate training for either the Master or Doctor of Psychology degree.  At the Clinic, all Psychology Interns hold Probationary Registration with the Psychologists Board of Queensland.

Psychologist Interns provide services under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced staff who are usually members of the Australian Psychological Society Colleges of Clinical or Forensic Psychologists.  Sometimes Psychologists on staff provide services directly to clients in order to demonstrate aspects of clinical work to Psychologist Interns.  You will always be advised of the professional status of the person providing services to you.

As this is a teaching clinic, consultations with clients are routinely observed by other Psychologist Interns and their supervisors.  Consultations are often videotaped to be used in peer review with other Psychologist Interns, Clinic teaching activities or supervision.  Thus, clients’ personal information is also routinely discussed as a means to better meet the needs of clients and to enhance the learning of the Psychologist Interns.
