ACPID - 27 - 29 November 2008

Seventh Australian Conference on Personality & Individual Differences, 2008 (ACPID-08)

Bond University and its research arm, Bond University Research & Consultancy Services (BURCS), are pleased to host the seventh Australian Conference on Personality and Individual Differences. This year a special welcome is given also to  participants from the wider Asia-Pacific and international regions.

ACPID involves a loose-knit body of academics and professionals interested in the field of personality and individual differences and the research findings and applications. This is our seventh Conference since its inception at the University of Wollongong. Previous conferences have been held at the University of Queensland (twice), Ballarat, Newcastle (1), and Macquarie and this year will be held at Bond University. Interest in research and discussion of Australian and Australasian research in personality and individual differences has been sustained over an eight year period or more. More recently interest from the Asia-Pacific region has also been demonstrated and the themes of the ACPID-08 conference have been extended to include cross-cultural studies (see Call for papers and ‘themes’). Evidence of the research output from ACPID has been demonstrated in national and international publications by presenters and, based around the ACPID-07 conference, in the book edited by Simon Boag (Personality Down Under: Perspectives from Australia, Nova Science Publishers- New York,ISBN 978-1-60456-794-6), and expected to be available at the ACPID-08 Conference.

Welcome to this further conference in the series examining personality and individual differences. You should have a thought-provoking time, and if you can build in an extra stay, the Gold Coast offers many fabulous relaxing venues such as its great beaches and the hinterland attractions. Welcome to Bond University!
