Information about the Process Time-frame
Applications from researchers are required by no later than the stated deadline dates.
Applications are sent to two reviewers who present their comments on the application to the Committee. The Summary Application (to be completed at the back of this form) is sent to all Committee members with the agenda for the meeting.
Principal Researchers and student researchers are invited, and strongly encouraged, to attend the meeting at a specific time to address any issues or concerns of the Committee.
Preliminary advice to researchers on their applications will be made by email to the Principal Researcher or academic supervisor in the three business days following the Bond University Human Research Ethics Committee meeting.
Status advice will be either 1. "Approved" or 2. "Conditional Approval" or 3. "Not Approved". In the case of 2 or 3, the Ethics Officer will convey the Committee's specific recommendations to the applicant in detail usually within one week of Bond University Human Research Ethics Committee meeting at which it was considered. Applicants are requested to wait for this letter and not to send in early replies based on their understanding from their meeting attendance. Verbal advice will not be given.
In the case of Conditional Approval, applicants will be required to meet the conditions of the Committee prior to commencement.
Applicants may register complaints about the process of consideration or the consideration of their application in writing to the Ethics Officer, Complaints, buhrec@bond.edu.au.
All complaints must be received by the application deadline date for consideration at the next meeting. Bond University Human Research Ethics Committee is obligated to report complaints to the Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) as part of its annual reporting process.
