Research at Bond
Become a Higher Degree Research (HDR) Student
Bond offers postgraduate research degrees at the masters and doctoral level. Research masters usually takes one to two years full-time to complete, while a PhD or Doctor of Philosophy program takes three to four years full-time.
The Bond University Research and Consultancy services (BURCS) is responsible for the enrolment and progression of all research students in the University.
Postgraduate research degrees are completed predominantly through research guided and supervised by specialist advisors. Each faculty incorporates world-renowned research centres, headed by internationally respected authorities in their relevant fields.

A PhD entails a major research project conducted under the supervision of a Faculty Advisor. (In the Faculty of Business, PhDs can be undertaken through a combination of research and coursework.) Doctoral degrees are offered by Bond in the areas of legal science, laws, health sciences, information technology, sustainable development and education.
Doctor of Legal Science(SJD)
The SJD is a research higher degree. Students must complete six postgraduate subjects and a 50,000 word major dissertation which represents a contribution to the knowledge and understanding of the field of study and which demonstrates a capacity for independent research.
