INternships @ Bond

For Organisations

Bond University is committed to ensure industry’s ongoing support for the program. Strategies that we will adopt to maintain this support include:

  • Giving sponsors input into the selection process, and the development of the necessary skills set so that interns are useful to them.
  • Ensuring continuity. For example, providing a succession of interns who progress a particular project, with Bond taking responsibility for ensuring that the work of one student is passed on to the next.
  • We expect that some interns will find employment within their sponsor organisation, especially when there is a shortage of key skills, which we will aim to provide.  The success of these students will encourage organisations to take on other interns. It is very important to us that we ensure that the quality of interns is high.

Other benefits to industry include:

  • Ability to trial new technologies that the students have been taught
  • Ability to solve existing problems within their organisation
  • Developing an understanding of the employment expectations of graduates so that their organisation’s recruitment and retention strategies may be optimised, and they are regarded as an employer of choice by quality graduates.
  • Development of their organisational capacity to mentor and develop staff, which will be enabled via the transfer of learning achieved from their experience / training with an Intern.
  • Enhanced organisational profile and positive branding associated with a demonstrable commitment to investing in their future workforce / association with Bond University.
  • Access to expertise and skills that they currently do not have in-house through both the intern and the supervising academic.
  • Ability to establish and develop a collaborative relationship with a leading edge private university in areas such as research and development activities, expert advice and joint funding arrangements.
