All human interaction, including human research, has ethical dimensions.
Application Process
BUHREC offers two types of review (application forms below):
Full Review: any research involving human participants that is NOT minimal risk. This includes ANY experimental manipulation, research involving minors or special collectivities, research about sensitive or serious social conditions.
Expedited Review: any research involving human participants that presents a minimal risk to participants.
The Committee has adopted the NHMRC Principles in its application form, whilst acknowledging that there are other environments in which university research is conducted and that research methodologies vary in accordance with the fields of study. They affirm fundamental rights for participants/subjects in research and provide guidance in the conduct of research. Although most research carried out by staff and students does not entail serious risks there may be some research projects where these may be present. The questions on this form are intended to assist Bond University Human Research Ethics Committee to minimise risk to everyone, including researcher(s) and participant(s).
