Comparative Procurement Analysis

2008-2010
Michael Regan (Bond University), TKK Finland Infrastructure Association of Queensland
$80,000

Project Summary

This project will adopt a two-stage approach to the development of an analytical comparative technique for measuring the quantitative and qualitative differences between procurement methodologies for infrastructure projects.

The first stage will review the literature to identify and weight the major drivers of improvements in procurement outcomes with economic and social infrastructure projects.

The second stage will consist of the development of a working model for the systemic application of the comparative analysis for a project.

The objective of this research is to produce a relatively simple model that will enable procurement agencies to quickly ascertain the optimal procurement option for specific types of projects. This work builds on earlier work by Regan and Manninen (2009) and is a collaborative undertaking between Bond University’s Mirvac School of Sustainable and the Built Environment Services Research Group at Aalto University in Finland.
