The Institute of Sustainable Development and Architecture (IDSA) operated separately from the Faculty of Business for the entire year, for the first time. 2011 was a busy year for the Institute of Sustainable Development and Architecture with 6 Australian Research Council funding applications made by ISDA researchers. PED Love, P Ekambaram, J Smith, P Davis were successful in receiving $90,000 for a project titled ‘Infrastructure project delivery: a life cycle evaluation model for public private partnerships’. During 2011 the Institute was also successful in a range of internal grants:

  • B Bajracharya, M Van Driel, L Too, N Webb, Promoting healthy and active living in masterplanned communities: case study of Varsity Lakes.
  • L Too, B Bajracharya, Sustainable campus community engagement.
  • C Langston, R Best, A new approach to international construction performance comparisons.
  • L Crawford, C Langston, B Bajracharya, Participatory project management for improved disaster resilience.
  • D Cattell, C Langston, A Wilford, An investigation into new software for life-cycle cost assessments of cars: encouraging more sustainable, carbon-efficient choices.
