
Centre for Comparative Construction (CCCR)
CCCR was established in 2011 to conduct research and produce outcomes focused on comparative studies of a number of aspects of the construction industries of various countries. The centre’s core objectives are to:
- Embark on an active campaign to generate funding from the Australian Research Council, and other Funding bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
- Engage in contractor consultancy for government and industry stakeholders both local and international.
- Seek funding and in-kind support from Australian and international firms to underpin applied research.
- Supervise research degree candidates and provide a research hub for that purpose
- Conduct conferences and other events to lift the research profile of the university and produce high quality publications.
- Liaise with relevant professional bodies and work with them to use the centre’s experience and track record to promote the centre’s activities locally and abroad.
2011 highlights include:
- CCCR commenced planning for its first international workshop being held on the Gold Coast. This gathering of Local and international experts set the agenda for the Centre’s research moving forward.
- The Centre received a Seeding Grant for: A new Approach to International Construction Performance Comparisons
