Centre for Software Assurance

The goal of the centre is to provide an environment for research, development and consulting on issues related to software assurance. The centre has established close ties with researchers (both academic and industry) as well as consumers who need software assurance and practitioners who provide assurance related services. The centre aims to remain at the forefront of the latest developments, develop new techniques, and disseminate the findings to the consumer. The Centre had a range of achievements during 2011, including:

  • The Centre published two papers in 2011 and two more papers were accepted in 2011 to be published in 2012.
  • The Director of the Centre had a range of achievements during 2011 including:
    • A grant from Coventry University to visit them in 2012 under the International Academic Collaboration Scheme.
    • Became a Senior Member of the Association for Computing Machinery
    • Became a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (fewer than 8% of members hold this grade)
    • Gave the Keynote Address at the Workshop on Advances in Model-Based Software Engineering 2011.
  • Prasad Bokil from Tata Consultancy Services joins as MSc(Research) student. This was the result of signing an MoU to collaborate with Tata Consultancy Services.
  • Kostyantyn Vorobyov received the following awards in Feb 2011:
    • IBM Prize for best undergraduate industry project
    • ACS Award for best graduating Undergraduate IT student
    • John Makepeace Bennett Medal for obtaining the highest level of academic achievement in the class of 2010.
  • The 8th Test Automation workshop was held in August 2011 which was supported by KJRoss and Associates and Capgemini.
