The Centre for Commercial LawThe Centre for Commercial Law provides a vehicle for the pursuit of research and publications, seminars and conferences in corporate law, corporate governance law, banking, competition (anti-trust), finance, e-commerce, industrial relations, insurance, labour, intellectual property, maritime, private international law, securities, shipping, taxation law, commercial aspects of sports, and related commercial law fields. Selected Achievements for the Commercial Law Centre: - The Centre for Commercial Law held its 3rd Annual Seminar Series in Vietnam. Over three days the following events were held:
- Vietnam Corporate Governance Law Workshop 2011 at the School of Industrial Management, University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City.
- Corporate Governance Seminars 2011 at the Hanoi School of Business (HSB) at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
- Workshop on corporate governance and directors' duties for VinaCapital: an 'interactive' program for management personnel at VinaCapital, a Vietnamese finance company.
- The members of the Centre are developing an ongoing program for professional development in corporate governance in the SE Asian region.
- The Centre is actively involved in comparative and international commercial law research through its three journals - the Revenue Law Journal, the Corporate Governance eJournal and the Sports Law eJournal. Publication of scholarly articles throughout the year in these journals contribute significantly to comparative and commercial law scholarship in the region.
