Visions of Grandeur: the future of the Gold Coast

A panel of leading experts will engage in a ‘Q&A-style’ debate on what our city will be like in 2050, including exploring issues such as sustainable urbanization, development versus conservation, image and identity, climate change impacts and growth of key local industries such as tourism. Well after the Commonwealth Games is over, what is the legacy that we are creating and is it the legacy we desire?

The panel comprises:

  • Professor George Earl (Gold Coast City Council’s Chair in Sustainable Development and Design)
  • Professor Philip Follent (Head, Soheil Abedian School of Architecture)
  • Professor Shelley Burgin (Head, Mirvac School of Sustainable Development)
  • Professor Tor Hundloe (Professor of Environmental Science)
  • A/Professor Michael Raybould (Head of Department, Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management).

Your host is A/Professor Bill Krebs.

The Debate will be followed by the Big Aussie BBQ, HSM Forecourt and Rooftop.
