Management and Advisory Board
The Health Informatics Researchers at Bond University have expertise in areas critically important to health care delivery, including chronic care management. Expertise in the e-Health area resides in two clusters: - School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine with Professor Chris Del Mar and Professor Mieke Van Driel as international authorities of evidence based medicine and health care delivery research.
- School of Information Technology (IT) within the Faculty of Business with Professor Iain Morrison’s extensive research in e-health decision support, process management and automation and effective application of IT to business, education and healthcare.
Bringing together these two sources of expertise through the establishment of a Centre for Health Informatics for Chronic Diseases, allows a focus on improving community-based care and education programmes through application of the innovative use of emerging technologies, supported by evaluated trials.
The Centre has current areas of research focus in: - the applications of sensor devices, automated patient flow processes and decision support systems to enhance chronic healthcare;
- workflow and secure document management in healthcare;
- real-time data-warehousing;
- social networking as facilitation for enhanced well-being and chronic care support.
