Accommodation
Introduction
Bond University is able to offer approximately 500 places
in residence each semester. These places are very popular and
prior arrangements via the Accommodation
Manager need to made to
secure
one of these. Students must indicate their intention to stay in
residence each semester otherwise it is assumed they will be staying
off campus. Existing residence students have first priority for
places but there are always some places available each semester
for new students. To ensure a place students need to pay the bond
($500) and the full amount of their accommodation fees for the
semester before they will be issued with their room key.
On Campus
The
University offers three styles of residence on the ground; namely
The tower units are larger
and provide for shared accommodation whereas the Halls rooms
are single and often have shared facilities such as toilets
and bathrooms.
The Bungalows are more spacious than the Halls but have shared
bathroom facilities.
Contact
Assistance with on-campus accommodation is available from the Accommodation
Manager, on (07) 5595 4085. More detailed information about the
services and facilities is available from the residences
pages or Residence Handbook.
Off Campus
If students prefer to be self-supporting in their living style
there is no shortage of local accommodation in
the surrounding suburb
of Robina. With close proximity to a huge shopping mall that includes
movie theatres, a train station, and the University as well as
being well serviced by local public transport this location is
ideal. A number of real estate agents and townhouse managers can
provide assistance in finding such accommodation.
Temporary Accommodation
The Gold Coast is Australia's most visited holiday
destination and as such has a huge range of
hotels and resorts providing plenty of options, especially
in off-peak times to find a place to stay. In some cases these
accommodation houses will allow long term leases for a semester
or a year but are ideal for a stay of a few weeks or a few nights
until you can organise something more permanent. Most of these
can be contacted through travel agents anywhere in the world.
The best approach is to try and find one of these in the local
areas such as Robina, Burleigh Heads or Varsity Lakes.
