Student and Staff Medical Clinic

The Student and Staff Medical Clinic is a facility provided for currently enrolled Students and Staff members of Bond University. Due to the high volume of students requiring medical assistance the Clinic is unable to assist alumni, family members of Students and Staff, or members of the community. Students and Staff with children must be registered with a local medical practitioner. Contact information for local medical practices may be obtained from the Clinic.

The Student and Staff Medical Clinic is located within Student Services Office (See location 9 on the Campus Map). Clinic appointment hours are: 9am-12.50pm and 1.50pm-4pm, Monday to Friday. The Clinic does not offer weekend, public holiday or after hours care. After Hours: please ring local Gold Coast Medical Centres off campus. MEDCALL provides a bulk billing service to all Medicare holders living off campus in your home, Phone: 5531 1224.

Emergencies: on Campus please contact Security on Phone: (559) 51234. Provide a description of the emergency and the exact location (building, floor number, room) or Ambulance phone: 000. For immediate crisis intervention when life maybe in danger telephone the Police 000 or local hospitals.

We are a Bulk Billing Clinic for Medicare, Direct billing "Allianz Global Assistance"- OSHC Worldcare "Allianz Global Assistance" (with a $5 CASH co-payment) applies to OSHC "Allianz Global Assistance" which is available for International  students who have a current policy. Telephone enquiries: 13 OSHC (13 6742). No insurance a consultation fee of $50 CASH applies (no EFTPOS facilitiy available). There is no cost involved to see the Campus Nurse in a consultation.

Dr. Peter Karsas operates his General Practice from the Student and Staff Medical Clinic and available by appointment.

  • Routine Pap smears and Sexual Health advice
  • Prescriptions and Blood test request
  • Medical Certificates
  • Referral for Specialist, X-rays and ultrasounds
  • Dive Medicals and Health assessments

Nurse

Sister Sue Hadfield is available by appointment for:

  • General Health care and advice 
  • Dressings and removal of sutures
  • Blood taking requested by Doctor and Immunisations
  • Routine travel vaccinations and information. Please allow 4-6 weeks prior to your departure date

 Demand for the Medical Clinic on Campus is high. We make every effort to make Appointments, but there may be times when we are unavailable for immediate appointments due to Semester demands.
