Teaching Laboratories

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine unveiled two brand new science laboratories in 2010.

The laboratories are dedicated teaching spaces for many of the Faculty’s programs including Biomedical Science, Exercise Science, Forensic Science, Health Sciences, Medicine and Sports Science.

Each laboratory has a maximum seating capacity of 36 to ensure small-group learning is maintained.

Inclusive learning environment

The two new laboratories are well resourced with technologies to meet the needs of students and include:

  • Power labs (used to conduct physiology experiments)
  • Organ baths (used in conjunction with power lab to measure electrical contractions of specimens)
  • Infrared spectrophotometer (used in chemical structure determinations)

The laboratories also include state-of-the-art audio visual technology to enable a supportive learning environment for all students.
