Bond University has three full teaching semesters each year. Each semester is comprised of 13 weeks of teaching, followed by an examinations week and a three week break between semesters except the Christmas break which is four weeks. The semester commences with orientation known as Bond Week. There are no mid-semester breaks.

The University Calendar includes some important dates which students should note. For example, the last date for adding or dropping a subject is Friday of Week 2, the census date (last day for withdrawal) is Friday of Week 4, Graduations are held Saturday of Week 4, the examination timetable is published by Friday of Week 5, continuing students should enrol for the following semester in Weeks 10, 11 and 12 (penalties apply after Week 12), and Examinations Week usually commences on Friday of Week 13 and runs through to Saturday of Week 14.
