eduroameduroam is a collaborative agreement between educational institutions to share access to their wireless networks. Being part of the eduroam federation allows Bond staff and students visiting another institution to connect to the eduroam wireless network using their Bond username and password. Where is eduroam available?Bond UniversityThere is blanket wireless coverage across the Bond University campus. Robina Hospital Eduroam is now available throughout the Robina Hospital for Bond staff and students. NationallyAARNET maintains a web site that summarises which Australian institutions are part of the eduroam federation. Information on participating institutions can be found here. Globallyeduroam is also widely deployed in European institutions as well as Canada and a few APAN countries. Visit the eduroam website for more information. Bond Staff and StudentsWhen visiting another institution you will need to check on the visited institutions eduroam support page to see what restrictions or resources are available to you. Visitors to Bond UniversityInternet access is provided free of charge however peer-to-peer / torrent applications are shaped to avoid bandwidth saturation. Conditions of useAll visitors must read and accept the Bond University Acceptable Use of ICT Facilities Policy before connecting to the eduroam wireless network at Bond. Note that access to eduroam is only available to users over 18 years of age or those users who have acquired parental consent to use “non-filtered” Internet access.
