Semi-colon
Use a semicolon:
- To join two independent clauses on the same topic.
- He’d said what he wanted to say; he left.
- To join two sentences using an adverbial conjunction. These can also be written as two sentences.
- My writing has improved; however, it still has a long way to go.
- To separate items in a list which are already using commas.
- The disease has now spread to Guangxi, China; Tainan, Taiwan; Dushanbe, Tajikistan; and, Ahmedabad, India.
