You are advised NOT to bring bags or briefcases with you to the examination. Leave your bag at home or put it in a locker at the gym. Laptops, programmable calculators and electronic dictionaries ARE NOT permitted in the examination.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are NOT permitted in the examination. Turn off your mobile and leave it in your bag. If you take your mobile into the examination, it will be confiscated.
Make sure you do not carry unauthorised material into the examination. Any student caught with unauthorised material in an examination will be charged with cheating.
Examination Timetable
The examination timetable for the May 082 semester is available online.
Centrally scheduled final examinations will be held from Friday 8 August to Saturday 16 Augustl in the Sports Hall. If you are enrolled in a subject that does not appear on the Exam timetable, please contact your lecturer/faculty for assessment details. PLEASE NOTE Two CORE exams are in multiple locations.
Examination Proof of Identity
Student Identification Card (SID)/ Other Photographic Identification – University Regulations require students to bring their SID card to examinations. Students who do not have their SID card may present other suitable photographic identification such as a passport or drivers licence.
No Photographic Identification - If a student does not have their SID card or any other photographic identification, they will be required to complete a Declaration of Identity form and will be allowed to sit the exam. A sanction will be then be placed on their record preventing the release of results for all subjects attempted by the student in that semester. Before the student’s results are released, they will have to provide evidence of their identity to Student Administration. For example, SID card, passport or driver’s licence. If the identifying document is considered satisfactory, the sanction will be removed and results released.
Commencement of Examinations
Students should report to the examination room at least 20 minutes prior to the commencement time. Students will be admitted to the examination room on a subject-by-subject basis and will receive a seat number card from their academic supervisor. Students should proceed directly to their seat in silence.
University policy on late arrival or failing to attend an exam:
No student will be permitted entry to an examination room if they arrive more than 30 minutes after the published examination start time.
Students are warned that misreading the timetable does not constitute valid grounds for the granting of a deferred examination.
Before the examination commences
Strict silence is to be maintained by all students from the time they enter the examination room.
Students will be instructed to complete an attendance form and fill in the covers of all examination booklets.
Perusal Time – all examinations include 15 minutes perusal time to allow students to read the examination paper.
During this time students must follow the instructions outlined on the examination question paper. All queries regarding the accuracy of the examination paper should be directed to their academic supervisor during perusal time.
Food, drink and other materials
Students are not permitted to bring food or drink into the examination room – drinking water is available.
You are advised NOT to bring bags or briefcases with you. Mobile phones, laptops or other electronic devices are not permitted and will be confiscated.
Students are advised to check with the subject coordinators well in advance, as to what material can be brought into the room for use during an examination. Unauthorized materials will be confiscated for the duration of the examination and the student will be referred to the academic misconduct committee..
Conclusion of the Examination
Students will be given a 10 minute warning prior to the conclusion of the exam.
Students are not permitted to leave the room in the last 10 minutes.
Preparing for Examination
Documents prepared by Student Services titled “Study Skills Note Theory” and “Study Strategies Resource Book” is available from Student Service Office. Any students requiring help with preparation for examinations and examination techniques should contact Student Services.
Special Requirements Examinations
Students may apply for Special Requirements Examinations if they have a medical condition that affects their ability to sit examinations under normal circumstances. Approved medical documentation must be provided.
All students wishing to sit Special Requirements examinations must submit an application form. Confidential Application for Special Requirements Examinations forms are available from Student Administration and must be submitted, along with medical documentation, by the end of Week 4. Applicants must also make an appointment to see the Student Disabilities Officer (ph: 55954001).
For the application to be considered, the student must include original documentation which details the condition/impairment and which may also recommend the type of exam support required. The Student Disabilities Officer will treat the matter in confidence.

Deferred Examinations
Applications must be lodged with Student Administration prior to the commencement of the examination or no later than 48 hours after the examination. Refer to, Academic Regulations, Item 5/51.
The Dean of the subject Faculty may allow a candidate to sit for a deferred examination where a candidate can demonstrate genuine inability to sit the normal, set examination, through illness or other exceptional and unexpected circumstances beyond their control. Deferred examinations are conducted during orientation week of the immediately following semester. Students must be available to sit their deferred exam/s on any day from Thursday – Saturday of orientation week. The timetable for deferred exams will not be published until several days prior to the commencement of the deferred exam period and for centrally scheduled deferred examinations will be available on the Bond website. You will also receive an email to your Student account advising that the timetable is available. If you do not receive this information at the beginning of Bond Week it is your responsibility to contact your Program Advisor or Student Administration.
Assessment Regulation 51.2 states that applications must be lodged with Student Administration with the appropriate documentation no later than 48 hours after the timetabled examination. Deferring an existing deferred exam is not permitted.
Students are not permitted to apply for deferred or early examinations on the basis of prior travel arrangements.
Release of Results
Students will be able to view their results on eStudent after 1 September 2008. If a sanction is preventing you from accessing your results you should contact the appropriate department to discuss the reasons, ie. contact the Credit Manager for a fee sanction, the library for a library sanction or Student Administration for all other sanctions.
Application for Review of Examination Result
Application forms are available from Student Administration and must be lodged by Wednesday, Week 1 of the following semester. A charge of $50 per subject will be charged if the result remains unchanged.
Academic Exclusion
An Academic Review Panel will be convened prior to Week 1 of each semester to investigate appeals by students who have been Excluded. Students who do not appeal against their Exclusion will not be allowed to continue their studies at the University.
Dean’s or Vice-Chancellor’s list
Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit points of graded coursework subjects (subjects that receive a mark and grade) each semester before they are considered for inclusion on the Dean’s or Vice-Chancellor’s list. Students will not be considered if they have any outstanding results.
