Doctor of Laws
A degree of Doctor of Laws (LLD) may be awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Academic Senate for published work or similar evidence of achievement which is certified by the examiners to be a distinguished contribution to knowledge which in their opinion gives the candidate an authoritative standing in the field of knowledge in which the work falls and an entitlement to general recognition as such by scholars in the field. A candidate for such a degree shall be a graduate of eight years standing either: of the University; or of a University recognised by the Academic Senate for the purpose of these regulations who has carried out advanced study and research in this University or an affiliated area for a period of at least two years.
