Honours in the Bachelor of Laws
The LLB degree may be awarded with First Class, Second Class Division A or Second Class Division B Honours. A candidate for the degree with Honours must fulfil the requirements for the pass degree and achieve such standard of proficiency as the Faculty of Law may from time to time determine.
The current policy is that a student with an average mark of 80% or more will qualify for First Class Honours, a student with an average mark of 75% or more will qualify for Second Class Division A Honours and a student with an average mark of 70% or more will qualify for Second Class Division B Honours. Only law subjects will be taken into consideration in determining these averages. Honours will be calculated including the results in all attempts in a subject.
A minimum of sixteen full-unit law subjects (of which a minimum of 2/3 must be Bond University Law Faculty compulsory law subjects) must be completed at Bond University in order to qualify for an Honours degree. A candidate who has completed fewer Bond University law subjects may be eligible for Honours where the Dean determines that this is appropriate in light of the candidate's performance in legal studies at another institution.
Law subjects taken at other universities which are credited to the Bachelor of Laws degree will not form part of the computation of averages for Honours.
