Teval Forms
An important aspect of the approach to education at Bond University is that students should regularly evaluate the performance of teachers and provide feedback on their perception of the educational quality of courses. Accordingly, every staff member’s teaching performance and every subject is evaluated by students through the completion of TEVAL forms. Lectures, seminars and tutorials are all evaluated.
Provision is made in the TEVAL form for ratings of teachers and subjects based upon a 1-7 scale and for general comments by students on the strengths of the teacher and any suggested improvements.
TEVALS may be conducted in either electronic or hard copy format. For hard copy, TEVALS should be distributed to students at some time in the last three weeks of semester. In lectures TEVAL forms are distributed at a date and time arranged with the Subject co-ordinator.
For tutorials or seminars TEVALS should be distributed by teachers and arrangements made for one student to deliver the results of the TEVALS to the general staff member designated within the Faculty of Law.
In all cases the staff member should not be present in the room while the TEVAL forms are being completed. The collated results of the TEVAL forms will normally be distributed by the Dean to individual staff members within the first three weeks of the following semester. Copies of the statistical results (but not general comments) are made publicly available in the Library.
