Career Pathways

The study of International Relations and Global Politics gives students an in-depth understanding of international politics, economics and culture. This is an invaluable asset for graduates in a wide range of occupations that include (but aren't limited to) the public service - particularly in foreign affairs, trade, defence - and international organizations, international business, and the media. For example, graduates may pursue careers as:

  • Diplomats
  • International public servants (working for the UN, etc)
  • Foreign affairs analysts
  • Defence analysts
  • Immigration specialists
  • Intelligence specialists
  • Foreign correspondents
  • Researchers for the media

Qualifications in International Relations also complement studies in a diversity of related fields such as media and communications, languages, international business, law and much more, enhancing your career opportunities in those areas.
