Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education

Duration: Part time (2 semesters)

Description 

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education is the first part of a suite of three courses in Master of Clinical Education program. At the end of the graduate certificate level program graduates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in teaching and learning within the health education setting
  2. Demonstrate capacity to communicate and work effectively with other health professionals, academics and support staff as part of a cooperative, professional and respectful team in the health education environment
  3. Supervise, mentor and support students in a variety of health care education settings
  4. Demonstrate an understanding and application of assessment principles and approaches in health / clinical education
  5. Demonstrate cognitive, technical and creative skills in curriculum design and planning and evaluation. 

Professional Outcomes

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education is intended to equip health professionals with basic knowledge and skills to educate medical and health science students in the clinical and non-clinical education environment.
