Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Practice

Duration: 8 Subjects (80 Credit Points)

Description

The Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Practice teaches students from varied backgrounds how to manage building projects – from physical execution to financial analysis and funding. The program focuses on the organisation and management of project resources (people, process, products, energy, finance, space) to deliver building projects on time, within cost, and of the defined scope and quality. Upon completion of the Postgraduate Diploma; students may choose to complete an additional four subjects to gain a Masters qualification.

Work Experience

Relevant work experience is encouraged. It provides students with the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge learnt while they are studying, maximising opportunities for career progression upon completion of their studies. An Industry Placements Officer is available to assist students in sourcing work experience opportunities.

Professional Outcomes

Students will be equipped with a range of management skills including project management, people, construction techniques, materials, plant and equipment knowledge, cost and time awareness, client relations, safety and law knowledge and, most particularly, an all-encompassing knowledge of sustainable development.
