Description
The Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Planning program provides you with the tools and techniques to design, appraise and manage urban and regional developments.
Work Experience
Relevant work experience is encouraged. It provides students with the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge learnt while they are studying, maximising opportunities for career progression upon completion of their studies. An Industry Placements Officer is available to assist students in sourcing work experience opportunities.
Professional Recognition
A combined eight semester program comprising of the Bachelor of Urban Design and Planning plus Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Planning is accredited with the Planning Institute of Australia (to 31 December 2016).
Professional Outcomes
The urban design and sustainability focus of this degree is geared towards one of the most rapidly developing areas of planning practice. There are opportunities for planners in: state and local government, including integrated transport planning, affordable housing strategy development, regional planning and various aspects of urban design; planning and urban design consultancies; and property development and community organisations.
