Description
The Postgraduate Diploma of Information Technology program offers a valuable introduction to graduate study. The program is a stepping-stone to further advanced information technology studies such as the Master of Information Technology degree. Specialist areas of study include database management and web applications.
Work Experience & Internships
The School of Information Technology acknowledges the importance of practical experience and the application of knowledge to live scenarios as valuable graduate attributes for graduates entering the ICT industry. To this end, the SIT offers opportunities for the student to undertake additional non credited work experience option or, subject to approval, a capstone project with an industry partner.
The SIT has a comprehensive capstone project learning program that optimises the relationships the SIT has with the ICT Industry and its complimentary partners. It is our aim to assign projects, where possible, that not only provides valuable experiences for the student but has deliverables that is beneficial to the Industry partner as well.
Professional Recognition
This program is not recognised for accreditation, students may undertake the Master of Information Technology or Master of Information Technology (Professional) to obtain Australian Computer Society (ACS) accreditation.
Professional Outcomes
The Postgraduate Diploma of Information Technology program provides students with the technical skills for careers in the information technology industry or IT intensive organisations, including government and business enterprises. All subjects are available for credit towards the Master of Information Technology degree.
