Bond University Award for Indigenous Community Excellence

About the Scholarship

Applications for this scholarship are open from April 1 - July 31 annually.

The Bond University Award for Indigenous Community Excellence has been made available through private donations raised at the Bond University Indigenous Art Auction and is specifically designed to support an Indigenous (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) student to study at Bond University. One Bond University Award for Indigenous Community Excellence Scholar will be selected to complete any single undergraduate or postgraduate degree of their choice (with the exception of MBBS, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Master of Psychology and Bachelor of Laws). The applicants will be assessed on the basis of proven leadership ability, community achievements and personal character. Please download our Indigenous Scholarship Flyer for further information.

Value

100% tuition remission of any single undergraduate or postgraduate degree (with the exception of MBBS, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Master of Psychology and Bachelor of Laws). Please note: this scholarship does not cover accommodation, meal-plan, text book and Student Activity Membership fees.

Availability

One Bond University Award for Indigenous Community Excellence will be available to students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (as defined by ABSTUDY).

Eligibility
  • Available to Australian Citizens that are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (as defined by ABSTUDY).
  • Applicants must have successfully completed, or be currently completing Year 12 at an Australian High School.
  • Applicants must meet the prerequisites and the admissions entry standards for their chosen program.
  • Submission of a 500 word personal statement outlining career ambitions and goals. This should be attached to your completed application form.
Selection Criteria

All applicants will be required to meet with their local Manager for Schools and Community for an interview. Short-listed applicants will also be required to attend an on-campus interview and meet with an interview panel. The panel will determine the winners of the Bond University Award for Indigenous Community Excellence.
