Description
The Bachelor of Information Technology equips you for a professional career within the information technology industry or within IT-intensive organisations, including government departments and businesses. You will undertake an intensive core skills program, followed by a specialist major currently available are Infrastructure, Information Systems, IT Management, Security and Dependable Systems, Software Systems (not available from 2013), or Web and Mobile Application Development.
Work Experience & Internships
The School of Information Technology (SIT) acknowledges the importance of practical experience and the application of knowledge to live scenarios as valuable graduate attributes for graduates entering the Information and communication technology industry. During your course of study, the SIT offers opportunities for you to either undertake an Industry project as part of your program of studies or as an additional non credited work experience option.
The SIT has a comprehensive Internship program that optimises the relationships that the SIT has with the ICT Industry and its complimentary partners. It is our aim to assign projects, where possible, that not only provides valuable experiences for the student but has deliverables that is beneficial to the industry partner as well.
Professional Recognition
The Bachelor of Information Technology program is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at Professional level.

The Bachelor of Information Technology provides students with the knowledge and skills essential to becoming a multi-skilled IT professional. You will be capable of contributing at a high level to technology development, strategic planning, business process management and modelling. You will have a range of career paths open to you, including business consultant, systems analyst and programmer, multimedia developer, network manager, solutions architect, researcher, project leader, IT educator and, ultimately, Chief Information Officer or Chief Technology Officer.

Students can undertake all current combined degree options. Our three-semester academic year can allow you to complete two degrees in the same time it takes to complete one degree at other universities.
