Diploma of Communication

Duration: 2 Semesters Full-Time

Description

The Diploma of Communication opens up a wide range of career and further study opportunities in disciplines ranging from film and television through to journalism and multimedia. Diploma studies cover digital media, public relations and the Australian media landscape.

The Diploma of Communication will teach students core skills to enhance their career prospects, whether that be a student fresh out of school or someone wishing to upgrade their qualifications. Some core skills covered include;
communicating in groups, managing public relations, online communication, critique and use emerging media, communication problem solving, decision making, rational and critical thinking, and an understanding of Ethics, morals and cultural beliefs.

Successful completion of the Diploma of Communication will provide students with either a pathway to Bond University undergraduate degrees* or to start their career in media, corporate communications, public relations or event management.

The Diploma Program is offered as flexible or part-time study open to domestic students only (as of 13th May 2013). 

Further Study

Successful completion of the Diploma of Communication guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Communication with 8 subjects credited to the degree, and shortens the duration of bachelor study by two semesters.
Entry into other degrees is with credit as follows:

  • Bachelor Communications (Business)(up to 8 credits)
  • Bachelor of Arts (up to 8 credits)
  • Bachelor of Film and Television (up to 8 credits)
  • Bachelor of Multimedia and Design (up to 8 credits)
  • Bachelor of Journalism (up to 8 credits)
